In the report, IMATAG automatically found an article published on the internet without crediting the author of the photo:

This morning, a photographer received by email an automatic alert: the IMATAG service informs him that one of his photos has just been found here.

The news posted on this page does not show any photo credits, and the photo file has no metadata (you can download it to check).

This site (cultureveille) returns to a second site (francemusique), to which he took the picture to illustrate his news. Probably authorized to use the photo, the site has, he, correctly credited the author and his agency, but the metadata of the original photo have disappeared.

The agency (Hans Lucas) of the photographer (Frank Bessière) can therefore make a claim to the site

Exemple 2 : find the author of an image

  1. view this picture on a screen or print it (you can download it or make a screenshot, even partial)
  2. with your smartphone, go to then click on “image search” in the top left menu, select the camera then shoot the photo. Save.
  3. IMATAG immediately gives you the correspondence with the original photo: it is François Lepage, who protects his photos on IMATAG.
